Amina Pahad tapped as RMB Ventures CEO

RMB Ventures is pleased to announce the appointment of Amina Pahad as Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 January 2026. She succeeds Andrew Aitken, who will remain with the business as a senior partner.

Amina has been an integral part of RMB Ventures for two decades, serving as a senior partner and playing a pivotal role in shaping the franchise. Known for her collaborative leadership style, deep business insight, and passion for developing talent, she brings a wealth of experience to her new role.

Since joining RMB in 2005, Amina has originated, executed, and managed transactions across diverse sectors, consistently delivering strong returns through strategic exits. Her track record reflects a commitment to building partnerships that create long-term value.

“My passion is finding great South African businesses – many operating under the radar – and partnering with their management teams to help them scale. By applying fresh thinking and a diverse experience set, our team unlocks growth and propels businesses to the next level,” said Amina.

“Our business is built on trust. Our partners need to know that beyond having the right capabilities, we care deeply about their businesses and stakeholders. Over the last 30 years, we’ve earned a reputation for being reliable, supportive partners who drive value, and we strive to demonstrate this in every engagement,” said Amina.

Amina’s commitment extends beyond transactions. She has championed RMB Ventures’ BEE partnership strategy, enabling the establishment and growth of successful BEE Private Equity Funds. She has also led initiatives to advance women in leadership and played a key role in creating the Early Learning Centre on the Merchant Place campus.

“RMB Ventures is a powerful franchise with significant opportunities for growth. My focus will be on identifying key game-changing activities and investing time and energy into those, while continuing to nurture the wellbeing and development of our talented team,” said Amina.

“Andrew’s wealth of investing experience and leadership have been invaluable. His initiatives, including our internal digital transformation, have set a strong foundation, and we will ensure these are fully embedded to deliver long-term benefits,” said Amina.

Amina’s leadership will reinforce a culture of collaboration, innovation, and inclusion, ensuring that both our people and our partners remain at the heart of everything we do. As private equity continues to play a critical role in shaping South Africa’s economic landscape, RMB Ventures is poised to lead with insight and integrity.
