Standard Bank Namibia has appointed seasoned banking leader Rejoice Itembu as its new Executive for Operations, effective March 1, 2026, bolstering the institution’s focus on digital transformation and client-centric efficiency.
Itembu brings over 15 years of executive experience in retail banking, business and commercial banking, digital innovation, client solutions, insurance, public relations, and strategic operations. Throughout her tenure at Standard Bank Namibia, she has driven robust business results, enhanced client experiences, and spearheaded initiatives that advanced the bank’s digital and operational strategies.
In her prior role as Executive for Insurance, Itembu managed the bank’s insurance operations, achieving strong financial growth, higher client satisfaction, and the implementation of cutting-edge digital tools within the insurance sector.
Her expertise encompasses end-to-end process optimizations, major digital upgrades, client-focused projects, and high-impact bank-wide endeavors. Itembu’s blend of strategic foresight and operational rigor has been instrumental in the bank’s ongoing transformation

She holds a Master’s Degree in Media and Cultural Studies from the University of Sussex and a Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies and Sociology from the University of Namibia. Additionally, she has contributed to various governance and risk committees, improving oversight and organizational performance.
The appointment strengthens Standard Bank Namibia’s leadership in operational excellence, digital capabilities, and strategic execution.
