Access Bank Botswana names Omphemetse Dube Head of Corporate and Institutional Banking

Omphemetse Dube has joined the Executive Committee of Access Bank Botswana as Corporate and Institutional Banking and brings with her more than two decades of one of Southern Africa’s most complete banking careers.

Her appointment to the Executive Committee of Access Bank Botswana marks not just an addition to a leadership team, but the arrival of a banker whose 21-year career at Stanbic Bank Botswana reads as a masterclass in institutional breadth, commercial discipline, and strategic range.

Access Bank Botswana announced on it official LinkedIn page

“We are proud to welcome Omphemetse Dube to the Access Bank Botswana Executive Committee.

With more than two decades of experience across leading financial institutions, Mrs Dube has built a strong reputation in corporate and investment banking, delivering strategic client solutions and driving sustainable growth.”

Dube’s career began in Treasury Sales in 2004 — where she was recognised with the Standard Bank Group’s Star of Africa Award in 2005 for exceptional performance and teamwork. It was an early signal of the professional she would become.

Over the years that followed, she progressed steadily and purposefully through some of the most demanding roles in corporate and retail banking, including Relationship Manager for Large Local Corporates, Manager of Client Coverage across Botswana’s mining and metals sector, and Head of Personal Markets where she took a business unit recording a P40 million loss in 2016 to break-even within a single financial year, before growing it into a consistent revenue contributor. That turnaround remains one of the defining chapters of her career.

As Head of Client Solutions, she orchestrated the delivery of innovative banking products across client segments, forged strategic distribution partnerships with mobile network operators including Orange Botswana, and engaged regulators and industry bodies on banking matters. Her most recent role Vice President, Mining and Metals, Corporate and Investment Banking saw her operating at the very apex of Stanbic’s client coverage function, providing strategic input into the bank’s global sector positioning and managing Botswana’s most consequential corporate relationships.

Across treasury, retail, corporate, and investment banking, Dube has not simply passed through functions she has transformed them. Access Bank Botswana gains in her a leader whose record speaks with the authority that only two decades of consistent, measurable delivery can provide.
