GA Insurance Uganda has announced the appointment of Shakira Shamim Mujuni as its new Chief Executive Officer and Principal Officer, marking a significant leadership transition for the company.
In a public announcement, the insurer revealed that Mujuni brings over 14 years of experience in the insurance industry, with a strong track record in business growth, operational excellence, and customer-focused transformation. Her appointment is expected to further strengthen the company’s strategic direction and reinforce its position within Uganda’s competitive insurance landscape.
Prior to her new role, Mujuni served as Chief Executive Operations at GA Insurance Uganda, where she played a key role in steering the company’s strategic direction, enhancing operational efficiency, and reinforcing governance frameworks. She has also held senior positions at reputable insurance firms across Uganda, building expertise across underwriting, business development, and insurance operations.

An Executive Certification holder from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa, Mujuni is also an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (UK) and a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute. Her leadership is defined by a strong commitment to customer-centricity, innovation, and sustainable growth.
The company expressed confidence in her ability to drive its next phase of growth, deepen client value, and deliver long-term profitability while capitalising on emerging opportunities in Uganda’s evolving insurance market.
