The Lagos State Governor and Visitor to Lagos State University Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, as appointed Professor Ayodeji Olawunmi BADEJO as the 10th Substantive Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU).
Mrs Oluwayemisi Thomas-Onashile, Deputy Registrar and Coordinator, Centre for Information and Public Relations, LASU, made the disclosure on Wednesday evening.
Professor BADEJO, a Professor of Counselling Psychology and a distinguished academic and university administrator, will succeed Distinguished Professor Ibiyemi Ibilola OLATUNJI-BELLO, mni, NPOM, whose tenure will end on Saturday, 19th September 2026.

Professor BADEJO will assume office as Vice-Chancellor on Sunday, 20th September 2026, for a single term of five (5) years.
The appointment, which is in accordance with the provisions of the LASU Law 2004 (As Amended) Ch.L69, Vol 7, Schedule 1, Section 3, on the appointment of Vice-Chancellor, was contained in a statement released by Mr Gbenga Omotoso, Commissioner for Information and Strategy.
