Mastercard has appointed Yasemin Bedir as President of its Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa (EEMEA) region, effective 1 September. The role places her in charge of strategy and operations across an expanded 81-country region that the company describes as a high-growth market.
Bedir, a nearly 20-year veteran of Mastercard, will also join the company’s Management Committee. She succeeds Dimitrios Dosis, who was recently named Chief Commercial Payments Officer with responsibility for Commercial & New Payment Flows.
Based on the United Arab Emirates, Bedir will oversee all aspects of Mastercard’s business in the region through partnerships with retailers, fintechs, financial institutions, governments and other enterprises.

Bedir most recently served as Division President for Eastern Europe for four years, guiding the team through a complex geopolitical and regulatory environment and strengthening Mastercard’s position in those markets. She is known as a strong advocate for talent development and has built a culture of accountability and collaboration.
She joined Mastercard in 2007 and has held roles across multiple markets, including General Manager for Turkey and Azerbaijan, and nearly five years overseeing community institution and processor relationships in North America.
