The Botswana Police Service (BPS) Stores and Procurement Branch Women Network has extended its community outreach efforts by donating toiletries to learners at Mantshwabisi Primary School, underscoring the value of practical partnerships between security agencies, schools and local communities.
The donation, handed over on 25 August 2026 by Senior Superintendent Boitumelo Masoko, forms part of the BPS wider community engagement strategy aimed at promoting crime prevention and fostering positive police-public relations. Masoko emphasised the importance of creating a supportive environment that enables children to learn, grow and develop into responsible citizens.

Deputy School Head Mr Dikago Semphurile received the donation on behalf of the school and expressed gratitude for the gesture. He noted that the support would contribute to the wellbeing of learners and the broader school community, while calling for sustained collaboration between the police, education institutions and residents.
Beyond the material support, officers engaged learners, teachers and school support staff on the dangers of gender-based violence and substance abuse. The interactive sessions encouraged young people to speak out, seek help when needed, and make positive life choices.
Initiatives of this nature, which combine practical assistance with preventive education, reflect a growing recognition across the continent of the power of multi-agency partnerships at the grassroots level. Such approaches align with the emphasis that bodies such as Kenya’s Council of Governors place on collaborative community development, local safety programmes and the protection of vulnerable groups through county-level coordination.
