NNPC Retail Hosts She-Fix 2.0 to Drive Female Empowerment

NNPC Retail Limited has reinforced its commitment to gender inclusion and female empowerment with the successful hosting of the second edition of its flagship initiative, She-Fix 2.0, in Abuja.

Held under the theme “Driving Diversity, Powering Progress,” the event brought together over 300 women professionals, entrepreneurs, young technicians, and leaders across the energy value chain, creating a platform focused on expanding opportunities for women in technical and professional sectors.

In her keynote address, Sophia Mbakwe highlighted the growing influence of women within NNPC Limited, noting that their contributions span all levels of the organization. She described NNPC Retail as the company’s closest interface with everyday Nigerians, where diversity plays a critical role in shaping inclusive growth.

Speaking on behalf of the Managing Director of NNPC Retail Limited, Huub Stokman, Executive Director of Finance, Valentina Kojo, stressed that women empowerment must go beyond rhetoric to become practical, visible, and sustainable.

Also speaking, Andy Odeh underscored the evolving role of women in the energy industry, noting that they are increasingly driving transformation, building institutions, and shaping the future of a sector in transition. According to him, “when women lead, value follows, and when value follows, organisations grow and society prospers.”

A key highlight of the event was a high-level panel session featuring leading female professionals across industries. Panelists included Emmanuella Arukwe, Maryamu Idris, Oremeyi Akah, Toyin Alasi, and Adaeze Nwakoby.

Beyond discussions, the initiative featured live car care demonstrations, a marketplace showcasing female-led businesses, interactive learning sessions, networking opportunities, and exclusive discounts on Oleum Lubricants and NR-GAS LPG products—demonstrating NNPC Retail’s holistic approach to empowerment across the energy ecosystem.

Building on the success of its 2025 debut in Lagos, She-Fix 2.0 represents a strategic expansion of the programme’s reach. It reaffirms NNPC Retail’s long-term vision of fostering a platform that delivers measurable and lasting outcomes for women within Nigeria’s energy sector.
