Faith Misozi Mukutu made history in 2022 when she became the first Zambian woman to be appointed CEO of Zambeef Products PLC in the company’s nearly 30-year history. This milestone speaks volumes about both her calibre and her journey.
At the helm of Zambia’s largest integrated cold-chain food producer, Mukutu oversees corporate strategy, operational performance, capital growth, and community development driving Zambeef’s ambition to remain the benchmark for agribusiness excellence across Southern Africa.
Her career was shaped across some of the continent’s most respected organisations. Starting at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Cavmont Merchant Bank, she built deep expertise as Finance Director at three listed companies, Zambian Breweries Plc, National Breweries Plc, and Zambia Sugar Plc, before joining Zambeef as Chief Financial Officer.
A Fellow of both the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants and the ACCA (UK), she brings over 20 years of senior finance and executive leadership to the role.
Her influence extends well beyond Zambeef. She holds board positions at Bayport Financial Services, First National Bank Zambia, CEC Renewables, and Good Nature Agro Products, among others.
Since becoming CEO, Zambeef has earned recognition across different sectors, winning first prize in three categories at the ZIPRC Awards and claiming the AfriSAFE CSR of the Year Award.
Also under her leadership, Zambeef has made significant strides on its five-year, USD $100 million expansion programme, commissioning a new wheat flour mill and cheese plant, expanding poultry facilities, and deepening its community footprint from flood relief in Southern Province to rural water infrastructure in Kafue.
For Mukutu, strong financial results are fundamental, but what truly defines success is the difference Zambeef makes to its people and the communities around it.
