Before joining Hollard Ghana, Akyianu built an impressive banking career with institutions including Barclays Bank Ghana and Standard Chartered Bank.

At Barclays Bank Ghana, she rose through senior leadership ranks, serving as Finance Director before becoming Acting Managing Director and later Managing Director. During her tenure, she played a key role in strengthening financial operations, supporting business transformation, and driving strategic growth initiatives within the bank.

Her earlier experience with Standard Chartered Bank in both Ghana and Johannesburg provided her with extensive exposure to financial management, corporate governance, credit analysis, and multinational banking operations. As Chief Finance Officer at Standard Chartered’s Johannesburg branch, she gained valuable regional experience that broadened her strategic and operational capabilities.
